Alex’s Review:

“A refugee is a person who, due to a well founded fear of persecution, has fled their country,” according to the 1951 Convention on Refugees. In this short video, the audience is able to see that there is not much more to say than these are just regular people that horrible things have happened to. They need a place to start over and live. America is a large and wealthy country. These people are not just coming over and accepting to be given things. They fled for their well-being. They are going to Refugee Resource Centers and learning English and looking for jobs. As the video explains, each year, America welcomes 50,000 refugees to come and live. The least we can do, people who are blessed to be living in a non-warring country, is to help them feel at home.
